Are You Questioning My Badassness Because of an Adam Sandler Movie?

13 11 2012

My wife and I just finished watching a movie earlier tonight. We watched Click with Adam Sandler, and I have to admit that it was a pretty good film. I never thought that I would be saying this, but who would’ve thought this would bring a tear to my eye. C’mon, who would’ve thought that something like this could happen from an Adam Sandler movie? I’m not saying that he’s a terrible actor by any standard, but it does show that he’s come a long way from making movies such as Billy Madison, or The Waterboy.
The film makes you pause for a moment and reassess how your life is going at the moment. It makes you think about how you prioritize your actions between work and family. I would have to say that it reminded me of the 1946 classic of It’s a Wonderful Life starring James Stewart and Donna Reed. Both are great films that I would recommend to anyone looking for something to watch and enjoy with their loved ones. Both movies reinforce the fact that I would love to be a stay-at-home dad so I can spend as much time with my family as possible. Work is great and a necessary evil, but when you’re sacrificing your family’s happiness, is it really worth making the extra $2 at the expense of spending more time away from home? Now it’s time to go watch something with a little bit of death and violence, maybe something like Rambo or Demolition Man to try and get my “Man Card” back.
